The intervention dedicated to the restyling of the historic Gattopardo di Lampedusa hotel was born from the desire of the owners, Sandra and Mario, to create a relaxed and feels like a home atmosphere for their guests. Struck by the style of the More Studio, Sandra and Mario requested Architect Valentina Moretti, Founder and Creative Director More, the project for their boutique hotel that was primarily started by Architect Tiziana Amato with whom a collaborative relationship was maintained. Valentina Moretti's intense and lively relationship with both clients turned, day after day, into a solid friendship, nourished by continuous conversation, feedback that was made possible by the long presence of Valentina and her team on the island during the planning and execution of the renovation. 

Gattopardo, today, is re-born to be a real "home": the outdoor spaces - pergolas and terraces have been designed with a domestic and intimate perspective, the same perspective was used for each bedroom that was designed one different from the other. The project developed by More wanted and was successful in respecting the authentic nature, wilderness, as well as the history of the island. The colour palette, as well as the materials used, are developed using the colours, finishes, and materials of the sea, coastline, and it's land. The coordination towards nature involving all the senses including the smells. Thanks to the smells of these materials that express the same fragrances of the Mediterranean landscape, that undoubtfully gives its best here. 

For the interiors, More opted to mix design furniture pieces, custom made, and unique pieces. Similar to the pergolas reminiscent of fishing nets, in expanded metal in shades of natural brass, the only accent colour chosen for the entire project and re-proposed in many details of the rooms. Projected ad hoc the railings and the entrance gate were made using rope in order to make the integration as organic as possible with the location, traditions, and crafts of the sea. In the rooms, design objects interact with the natural materials as well as the custom-designed pieces that use natural wood, iron, screened resin to remember everything that the sea and the wind drag, bring with them, and leave along the coasts and shoreline. A combination of modernity and nature that proposes a timeless style. 

Accurately researched - by choice shared with the client also the selection of the accessories: from the linen to tablecloth, from decorations to small functional objects. Unique pieces, consistent with the desire to offer a welcoming feeling that you would receive from a private home. The result is research to favor companies that work with strict principles of sustainability, for the respect of this extraordinary island.
